Work table check: Height, Size, and Location

For your home office or children’s room: To ensure that you will enjoy using your work table in the long run, it is not only important to place it in the best location, but also to choose the right height and width when you purchase it.

The right size

  • For Techies: Special computer desks provide functional features such as cable ducts, pre-installed docking stations, or keyboard trays, as well as sufficient space for technology.
  • For Creative Minds: We recommend a corner desk to anyone who likes to spread out and needs lots of room. Smaller versions of these desks allow you to make optimal use of the corners in your home.
  • For Movers and Shakers: A standing desk is the right choice if you do not like to sit for longer periods of time, or if you suffer from backaches. This special work table not only saves space, but is also great for your posture.

Ideal height adjustment

No one likes neck or back aches. Therefore, it is important to adjust seat and table heights ergonomically. Also important: Enough leg room and being able to comfortably rest your arms on the work table.

  • For Adults: Most work tables come in the standard size of 720 millimeters. For very short or tall individuals, we recommend height adjustable office desks with measurements between 680 and 760 millimetres.
  • For Kids: When it comes to choosing a desk, kids probably pay the most attention to color. However: A height-adjustable model that grows with the child is the best choice to ensure lasting enjoyment of your children’s desk and to go easy on your child’s back.

The best location

Do you have your own office space? Bingo! In this space, your work table can function as the central accent piece – feel free to experiment with colors or materials. If the work table is located in the living room, a smaller model that works well with the rest of the room might be your best bet. Generally valid: Provide at least 80 centimeters of space between tabletop and desk chair for sufficient elbow room. Positioning the desk near a window is ideal for natural lighting coming in from one side.

Ask yourself the following questions before looking for the right work table for you: How much space do I have? Do I need a large work surface or primarily storage room? Do I work mostly on the computer or creatively? This way you can ensure that your desk meets all of your requirements.

Visual appeal and functionality are equally important in the selection of a work table.
