Clocks for the home in 3 styles
From classic to futuristic: Clocks for the home are loved not just for their beautiful appearance, they make a big impression because of their chimes. Whichever style of chime it is, Bim-Bam, Westminister or Viennese, at the given moment the bells toll and tell the time with music. Stylight has listened carefully to these three different models of pendulum clock:
1. Glamorous: The Golden Clock:
- Shape/Design: simply round or with decorative housing
- Clockwork Movement: with visible clockwork movement (mostly 8-day movement). Pendulum, Roman or modern numerals, most from polished brass, black or also gold-colored clock hands. Chimes on the hour, some have other chime patterns
- Diameter of the clock face approx. 8 to 12 inches
- It fits in here: in the living room against a smaller wall, beside the elegant lounge suite, next to a beautiful bookcase in the reading corner or library
- Price: USD 150 and USD 400
2. Rustic: The Wooden Clock
- Shape/Design: Back wall and clock case made of varnished wood (for example Walnut or Oak), curved shape, also available hand-painted housings with pretty, traditional flower motifs
- Clockwork Movement: 8-Day movement (Bim-Bam chimes), with chimes you can manually turn off, with ornamented pendulum, round clock face with decorative elements, brass clock hands, Roman numerals
- Diameter of the clock face approx. 10 to 14 inches
- It fits in here: in the dining room by the big wooden table, in the hallway next to the telephone table, in the country-style kitchen against a free wall
- Price: USD 400 to USD 700
3. Minimalistic: The Basic Clock:
- Shape/Design: round or square shape, silver, modern Arabic numerals, discreet clock hands, aluminium clock face with the main numbers, made of glass or just with a glass casing, reduced pendulum
- Clockwork Movement: 8-Day Clockwork Movement (mostly available with Bim-Bam chimes), electronic movement also possible, chimes can be manually turned off
- Diameter of the clock face approx. 8 to 10 inches
- It fits in here: in the office above the glass desk, in a modern but luxurious bathroom (NB:only on dry walls!), next to a modern pantry.
- Price: USD 300 to USD 500
Clocks for the home are small mechanical masterworks and the clockwork movement is endlessly fascinating. Most clocks for the home can be manually turned off, which is practical if you need quiet in the home for a moment or if the chimes are disturbing you at night.
