Batik is back: pants with batik pattern
When you hear the word ‘batik’, does it remind you of those home-dyed shirts you made in elementary school? Then it’s about time we replaced those memories with newer, better ones! Because batik isn’t just alternative any more. Labels like Balmain or Steffen Schraut have made the Indonesian color technique socially acceptable to wear anywhere. Stylight shows you how to style pants with batik pattern while keeping the look cool and fancy!
1. A little bit of fun
When you want to show a little flesh: when choosing pants with batik pattern, don’t forget that silk or denim shorts are an option. But you should only combine three colors at the most, otherwise the color will quickly get too much. Salmon and beige or black, white and gray are very classy. Instead of classic batik patterns, you can also go for the dip-dye style. Your top should pick up on the main base tone of the pants because this will bring balance to the look. Sneakers are hard to wear with this look, suede boots or high heels are much better choices.
2. Going cross country
Harem pants or skinny pants are also great on the go with batik patterns. In this case, you absolutely have to go for subtle gradients and plain – white or cream – tops. Slim pants go with oversized tops, or if your pants are a little wider, tight tank tops are in order. Gold or rose gold accessories are great styling partners because they add some punch to the colors. When it comes to shoes, reach for the stars with high heels or pumps! Flip flops or leather slides are absolutely out of the question.
3. On a beach vacation…
… there are no limits for the batik trend. Their bright colors look especially awesome against sun-tanned skin. For the perfect summer feeling, you can wear accessories with your light summer pants with batik patterns: espadrilles or beach bags with batik patterns look amazing.
If you just want to dip your toe into the batik trend, go for accessories. A plain cotton scarf in gray and white or black and red will make plain looks more dynamic and quickly have you wanting more.
