How to jazz up a basic t shirt with skill
Basic t shirts are low-maintenance and work well as day and evening wear, in your spare time and at work. If that makes you think that there are no rules here for styling, you’re quite mistaken: For an outfit to be a success, it needs a few tricks to ensure basic doesn’t mean bland. Because the rule is: only ever use one or two basic items per outfit so that it doesn’t look boring or like you’ve been lying in bed all day on a Sunday afternoon. What to wear with your basic shirt:
Denim love
Yeah, okay. Jeans are pretty basic themselves. To make sure the shirt and pants pack a good punch, the jeans should have some details. Either choose a cool wash – from graphic to wild – or seams in contrast colors. Decorated bags or eye-catching buttons also make for a small but fine difference. Light shirts go with dark pants and colors in the same family should be kept one tone apart.
Jacket fan
In a flash, the basic t shirt becomes a stylish companion under all sorts of jackets, sports jackets, bouclé jackets and blazers. Straight V necks and round neck shirts are perfectly suited to this style. They don’t distract from the jacket or bunch up at the shoulders and they can be easily combined whenever you don’t want to wear a shirt or glittery top. But the shirt should be in a different color to the jacket. The tone in tone style will be too boring.
Leather jacket junkie
Here, the same rules apply as with the other jackets. But this time, the shirt and jacket can be in the same color. The shirt gets a little more edge from the sporty cut of the leather jacket. Long sleeved shirts are best here, they are comfortable to wear under real and false leather. The shirt should, however, be long enough at the hem so a biker jacket doesn’t expose the stomach (this one is just for the ladies, there isn’t any danger of this for men!).
Jewelry
A little glamor does any basic shirt a bit of good, especially for women. So jewelry with this look can be very simple. Gold or silver chains with small pendants quickly make the outfit prettier. Instead, men prefer a spray of their favorite scent. Simple, but effective…
