At ease! Sports bras are now taking over

What’s the point of looking super stylish at the gym or gymnastics class if your bust is drooping? Exactly! You need a bit of support from your underwear as well. That’s no problem with sports bras. They’re classed according to the degree of support they offer: from light to high-impact! Stylight explains below which version of the sports bra is best for the various different requirements.

1. Comfortable support

You do need a sports bra for workouts that aim to create muscle tone – such as fitness training at the gym, yoga workouts, or stretching at home – but it doesn’t have to fit like armor. Comfortable cross-back bustier-bras with a wide elastic band under the bust keep everything in place without being uncomfortable. The main thing is to be able to breathe properly when doing these exercises, which is why you should on no account wear a sports bra that’s too tight and cuts off your air supply. Whether you’ve got a small or large bust, go ahead and choose fun colors and designs.

2. Firm support

Jogging, Nordic walking, or mountain biking: For these activities, you need to take it up a notch and choose a sports bra that offers more support. Wide tank straps, double support, high-quality seams and perfect cushioning are essential when it comes to higher impact sports. This way, everything stays securely in place. Wear your sports bra with a lightweight athletics shirt or functional sports jacket. It’s fine to show a peek of your bra while working out, especially if you’re wearing a colorful design with neon detailing.

3. High-impact support

Volleyball, rugby, squash, and boxing are total-body workouts, and the wide, sometimes jerky movements are hard work for your muscles, but for your bust as well. Be sure to choose a sports bra that is suitable for these conditions and provides high-impact support. In a tight-fitting bra made of special fabric with traditional bra hooks (easier to put on and take off), you’ll be well equipped for the toughest of workouts.

Always choose a real sports bra as opposed to a regular sporty bra top, as the moisture-wicking properties of the fabric are a real advantage when it comes to perspiration.

Sports bras keep your bust firmly in place.
