Even though we’re reluctant to admit it, summer is (almost) over. However, rather than get emotional about the impending cold weather, we’re trying to stay optimistic and focusing on the good: men’s trends for Autumn/Winter 2025. Everyone knows fall is unquestionably the best season for fashion: the weather is just right for layering and, if we’re being honest, we’ve really been missing wearing our boots.

To usher in a new sartorial season, we sifted through the highlights of the men’s Autumn/Winter 2025 fashion shows and found the five trends worth shopping for.

From outerwear to accessories, keep cozy this fall in these five men’s must-haves.

Autumn/Winter 2025 are all about embracing the “modern cowboy” aesthetic. The strongest case in favour of the Western renaissance was hands-down Pharrell William’s AW24 collection for Louis Vuitton, his third since taking the helm of the Maison as creative director. William’s cowboys were bold, over-the-top, and cinematic but also subtle, earth-toned, and chic.

The Western aesthetic is coming back in full swing this fall, and you ought to be ready. No matter where you fall on the Cowboy-Ken-to-modern-cowboy scale, the staples for the perfect cowboy-inspired look are the same: lots of denim—both shirts and pants—, rugged leather and suede jackets, bootcut jeans, and Western boots. Neckerchiefs and bolo ties are a perfect addition for the bolder folks.

Along with the resurgence of tailoring, neckties are also coming back this Autumn/Winter—blame it on artist The Dare and his iconic suited look, which is becoming the new viral sensation on social media. Traditional, old-school ties at that: none of that pastel, department-store nonsense, but proper heritage, big-boy ties.

Dark solid colours like brown, navy, black, and grey work well in textured materials— wool, silk knit, or Donegal fleck. Trendy prints, on the other hand, include old classics like foulards, mosaics, and repp stripes. A somewhat unappreciated shoe, the Derby is a more than valid alternative to popular styles like monk straps and Chelsea boots, which may sometimes be too formal. Moreover, derbies contrast with the formality of the Oxford shoe with their unique construction, a generally rounder toe and a more robust shape.

Boots, brogues, and ultra-fashionable split-toes are just a few of all the different derbies available, but a sleek pair is the best choice for this Autumn/Winter. Their versatile appeal makes them suitable for almost every look that requires a dash of everyday sophistication: from tailoring—duh—to twill chinos, corduroy trousers and even jeans with white socks. Keep them polished, or let them develop a patina to enhance their retro charm.

Fashion trends are like a pendulum: what is out of style one day is bound to come back sooner or later. This Autumn/Winter, that is the case for slim silhouettes, especially in tailoring. The boxy and oversized trend that has had us in a chokehold for years is starting to wane in popularity among designers in favour of sharp-fitting pieces.

Slim blazers, coats, button-downs, and slacks are what to look out for during the cold months. In short, it might be time to take your oversized blazer to the tailor.

Cardigans are back for 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited. The cold months are all about cozying up, warm layers, and comforting textures: the beloved cardigan provides all of that, plus an innately stylish and versatile look that suits jeans and a t-shirt as well as it does a shirt and a tie.

When shopping for cardigans this fall and winter, go for quirky, interesting patterns, fuzzy cashmere, mohair, and angora, or statement collars. The aim is to infuse your personality into your new knitwear: a classic plain Merino cardigan is yes versatile, but also possibly uninspiring. Alternatively, fully lean into the Grandpacore vibe with thick cable-knit or shawl-collar cardigans. Tweed and elbow patches are a plus.
