How To Lose 10 Pounds Before The Holidays
The holiday season is known to make us gain a few more pounds than we please. Although, for many of us, this is a time where we want to look our best as we’re often seeing lots of family and friends. It also just makes a huge difference when we feel better about the way we look in certain outfits during this time of year.
We’re all guilty of indulging a little too much during this time, but there are a few things that can be done to help us shed a few pounds or maintain our current weight while we consume more calories than usual. Yes, we’re talking about those extra few glasses of wine and tins of homemade cookies.
1. Skip
Skipping is such a great fat burner. The best part is, you don’t even have to leave your house or spend money on a gym membership. Just buy yourself a fitness skipping rope and watch the fat melt off. One hour of skipping can burn up to 600 calories.
2. Eat A High-Protein Breakfast
A high-protein breakfast will curb your cravings for some time and fill you up with all the right nutrients. Think of egg whites, turkey bacon, whey protein, peanut butter and greek yogurt. Those foods are high in protein and low in fat, which means they will give you the power you need to get through your busy mornings without wanting to reach for a cream cheese bagel.
3. Drink Your Water!
You already know this, so why aren’t you doing it?!
Drinking lots of water is very important when trying to lose or maintain weight. Water can help burn calories faster and can reduce your appetite when consumed before a meal. Doing so will help you feel full faster and reduce your chances of overeating.
4. Prep Your Food
Whether you work or go to school, preparing your food is very important in helping you stay full and make healthier choices. Aim to go grocery shopping on the weekend and meal prep at least whichever meal you have to eat outside the house. For example, if you work a 9-5 job, be sure you’re prepping your lunches and have healthy breakfast options handy. This will discourage you from making unhealthy food choices and ultimately, helps contribute to your weight loss.
