Materials
1 x Grapevine 18-inch wreath
1 x Packet of florist wire (22-gauge)
1 x Bunch of seasonal branches and leaves
1 x Tube of superglue
1 x foot-long piece of ribbon (velvet, satin, cotton; it’s up to you) or raffia
+ Whatever accents you wish: cinnamon sticks, star anise, dried orange slices, glitter ornaments, false flowers (such as magnolias, roses or poinsettia), pinecones, maple leaves (false or real), cotton, red berry branches, pussy willow
Method
1. Arrange seasonal leaves and branches on top of grapevine wreath. Centre around base or cover whole wreath, it’s up to you. When you’re happy with the design, secure greenery to the wreath with florist wire.
2. Keep the design simple by affixing red berry branches and/or pussy willow to wreath with wire and gluing on pinecones. Or, add a traditional flair by supergluing cinnamon sticks, star anise, clipped cotton branches and dried orange slices evenly spaced around the whole wreath, or clustering them at the centre-base. For a more extravagant look, affix wooden or plastic ornaments or false flowers.
3. Tie a bow with ribbon/raffia and glue to top or bottom of wreath depending on where existing decorations are placed: if centred at the bottom, position bow at top of wreath to balance the design; if evenly spaced, the bow can go at the top or bottom.
4. Leave for a few hours to allow glue to dry and hang!
