Who is Squid Game actress HoYeon Jung?

Move aside “Bridgerton,” there’s a new Netflix hit in town. Since its debut in September 2021, “Squid Game” has taken over the streaming service as its biggest-ever series at launch.

The South Korean survival drama is about cash-strapped contestants who must compete in children’s games where the outcome is either cash or death.

With more than 111 million viewers worldwide, the stars of “Squid Game” have quickly skyrocketed to fame, including South Korean model HoYeon Jung.

Prior to her role as Kang Sae-byeok in the South Korean mini-series, HoYeon Jung was a model in her native South Korea, with Vogue even dubbing her the country’s “next top model.”

Jung began her modelling career at age 16 and appeared on the fourth season of “Korea’s Next Top Model.” She has graced the covers of Vogue Japan, Vogue Korea, W Korea, and Harper’s Bazaar Korea, and walked for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, and Chanel, among others.

Since her debut on the wildly popular Netflix hit, the 27-year-old went from having 40,000 followers on Instagram to more than 22 million.
