Men’s Fashion Week Is Making A Blanket Statement (And We Agree)
Menswear is known for both its relaxed confidence and functional appeal, which is why once men’s fashion week gears up, women take notice. The international jet set of designers, editors and buyers followed that exact lead this season, offering us ladies a surprisingly new form of outerwear: the blanket.
No, we’re not talking about stepping out in your mom’s comforter. Consider these blankets the most functional way to throw on a last minute statement piece—think couch staple turned styling trick. Sling it over your shoulders, pin it like a scarf or just wrap it around, burrito-style. And it doesn’t stop with street style. Like Linus van Pelt, models were seen dragging blankets down the Fall/ Winter ‘16 runways, making us wonder why no one thought of this sooner.
And although we’re still not seeing any signs of brutal cold weather this year — should a deep freeze arrive in time for our very own fashion week — at least we can find comfort in knowing that we’ll be prepared to tackle the streets in style. Thanks guys.
