Love it or leave it: We tried Amazon pajamas under £30 and here are our honest reviews

It’s not always easy finding the perfect pajama set – something that is chic enough for those home office days but still cozy enough to whisk us off to dream land at night. The problem is often, how do you know if it’s really comfortable until you’ve slept in it a few times right? That’s where we come in.

Our style editors went on a quest to find the most comfortable and softest pajamas on Amazon, which checked all the boxes of style and comfort…while also not being too expensive. Amongst our criteria were material, coziness factor, color and pattern, WFH chic-ness, and fit. Here are our honest reviews of the best (and worst) pajama sets we tried and tested (8 hours of beauty sleep not included).

Why: This one was by far our favorite from all the Amazon Essential pajama sets. The material was the perfect combination between soft and stretchy, and wasn’t at all itchy or stiff. The fit was also flattering and made working from home a bit more chic. There are several different colors for this style, but we found black to be the best.
One of our editors even said that it was almost identical to her pajama set that cost more than 5x as much! In the last picture you can see the pricier alternative – we put the two pajamas side by side and we could barely tell them apart! And for the price, we’ve gotta say that’s quite the steal.

Sizing tip: The set was pretty true to size, but if you’re in doubt we would suggest going down a size.

one bit! The only thing we didn't like about these were the hem seams - there in a very fine elastic sewn around the hem which sometimes feels a bit scratchy against the skin. We even washed them to see if there was a change in size, and they didn’t shrink one bit! The only thing we didn’t like about these were the hem seams – there in a very fine elastic sewn around the hem which sometimes feels a bit scratchy against the skin. Sizing tip: These were relatively true to size, but one of our style editors who usually wears an M said she would likely go down a size since the bottoms were a bit on the larger size.

Why: Everybody loves a good flannel pajama, especially in this classic red and black Buffalo Plaid. The cozy pattern makes us want to curl up in front of a fire or spend a long weekend in a cabin sipping hot cocoa and reading a good book. While the material was very warm, the fit was not quite right. The shorts were a bit too baggy and bulky in the wrong places, but this might also be fixed by going down a size. We also liked each of the pieces seperately but it was a bit strange to have long sleeves paired with a shorts especially with such a warm material.

Sizing tip: We would defintely reccommend going down a size. The shorts were very baggy and the top was quite oversized.

Why: Sadly, it’s a no for these pajamas. The pattern was a no-go – it looked very outdated and looked completely different to the image on the website. The material felt cheap and was simultaneously thin and stiff. Because the material was so stiff it was not flattering at all, and the cut and overall fit of the pajamas was very boxy. The sizing was also not accurate compared to other pajamas, with the arms being way too long and the bottoms way too loose.
