How Diane von Furstenberg’s assistant started a New York blogging community
She may be Diane von Furstenberg’s assistant, but Simone Piliero, the blogger behind Simply by Simone, has a style unique unto herself. Mixing DVF’s wild prints with structured #GirlBoss separates, Simone says that she’s always drawn to, “those eye-catching pieces you can pair back with basics.”
“I created Simply by Simone [in May 2014] as my creative outlet,” Simone told Stylight. Residing just outside of New York City in Westchester County, Simone is the co-founder of an influencer network called Westchester Blogger Babes. “Getting together and chatting with like-minded driven individuals” has been one of the best things to come out of her five-year-old blog, according to Simone; “the community is no.1 for me.”
“[My style] is edgy and ever-changing,” says Simone. Among her favourite brands? “I’m biased, but DVF.
“I love how easy it is to wear everything from day to night, how so many of our dresses can also be worn as cardigans, and most of all, I love our statement pieces.”
