How to make your noisy shoes quiet
There’s no frustration quite like noisy shoes. You invest in the season’s coolest sneakers, walk down a noiseless hallway, and all you can hear are the squeals, squeaks, and clicks of your newly-purchased shoes. But what can you do? Attach a cotton pad and hope for the best? Of course not. Rather, try these hacks to quell your noisy shoes.
Did your shoes get wet recently? If so, it may be that some residual moisture is hanging out between the sole and the insole. In that case, grab a blow dryer and dry the inside and the outside of the shoe. Don’t bring the blow dryer too close because you might risk melting the sole. You can also try sprinkling baby powder between the insole and the sole.

If your shoes squeak, there are a few ways you can help get rid of that. Try wearing them in a little. It might be that they’re too new and need some more wear. Sometimes, walking in them does the trick! Try wearing them around the house to help them stretch out before you actually have somewhere to go.
If the squeaking doesn’t go away, rub a piece of sandpaper over the underside of the rubber sole. This changes the nature of the rubber, which can eliminate the annoying squeak.
