6 vegan-friendly fashion brands worth your money
Vegan-friendly and sustainably-focussed apparel has been one of the hottest topics in fashion for the past few years. Fear and uncertainty caused by the climate crisis and a general sense of personal responsibility shared by many make most of us think twice before purchasing a pair of new leather shoes or a polyester blend sweater.
In an industry often so resistant to change, seeing more and more vegan, ethical, and sustainable brands succeed and thrive is a breath of fresh air. And not only are these brands pro-animal, but they spotlight the chic possibilities of eco-minded clothing. If shopping more responsibly is your 2025 New Year resolution, check out our six favourite vegan brands for shoes, outerwear, and more.
Stella McCartney is probably the best-known vegan luxury brand despite not being fully vegan—as they use recycled cashmere and ethically sourced wool (often from Stella’s own farms).
Still, we won’t hold this against her, as Ms McCartney’s namesake brand was one of the first to put vegan-friendly “it” bags on the map: the iconic Falabella bag is not only the brand’s hero item, but it’s also fully vegan. The brand features a collection of vegan bags and wallets and, since 2013, has been using energy and water-sensitive resources when creating its sought-after products. Stella McCartney also began using a genetically engineered silk alternative in their clothing in 2017.

Paris-based ROMBAUT is an ultra-cool vegan brand devoted to sourcing its materials from natural sources like fig, coconut, and pineapple fibres. The brand is easily recognisable by its unique and eye-catching aesthetic, which founder Mats Rombaut describes as “pure, optimistic, and gloomy”.
Hailing from Belgium, Mats is also a Creative Consultant and Sustainability Expert who speaks out against greenwashing, which is unfortunately prevalent in the fashion industry. ROMBAUT celebrated their tenth anniversary this year with their first-ever fashion show, a part-runway part-performance affair held in June 2024 at the L’Institut du Monde as part of Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

The Canadian label Noize is known for its trendy, cruelty-free outerwear. In the last few years, the brand has established itself as a global leader in the vegan fashion space, experiencing massive growth between 2018 and 2022. The reason behind this growth is simple: they’re “doing cool without the cruel”.
Their vegan outerwear is made with the highest quality, technologically advanced materials—faux fur, vegan leather, down alternatives, recycled fill, and organic cotton. In short, it’ll last a lifetime and keep you warm winter after winter—and if there’s someone we trust with creating ultra-warm outerwear, it’s the Canadians.

The Hungarian brand Nanushka should be credited not only for shining a spotlight on Central European designers, but also for its unwavering commitment to sustainable and high-quality materials. These materials are then used to create sophisticated and feminine wardrobe staples that will stay on your rotation season after season.
In particular, Nanushka is a pioneer in the field of leather alternatives: in 2022 they launched Okobor, a material made in-house and composed of 56% recycled polyester and 44% polyurethane. Founder Sandra Sandor explained to British Vogue: “We have worked with our suppliers to ensure we can have the same quality—this buttery, luxurious touch, [while] ensuring [the new material] has a reduced impact”.

Did you know that the production of blue denim is one of the most polluting and wasteful processes? Between water consumption and the usage of harsh chemicals, your favourite jeans might cost the environment more than you think.
LA-based brand Boyish aims to provide a stylish, vegan-friendly, and sustainable production model for denim. All their jeans are manufactured with sustainably sourced materials, and Boyish ensures that toxic chemicals are out of the equation when washing and dyeing the denim. Not only that: they also use recycled and OCS 100 certified organic cotton, deadstock materials, and denim from the world-renowned Candiani Denim mill, a leader in sustainable fashion within the denim industry.

PANGAIA is less of a brand and more of a materials science company, continually pushing the boundaries of innovation.
While the brand uses animal-derived materials like recycled cashmere and wool and 100% traceable NATIVA™ merino wool, they also created a wide range of exclusive textiles and sustainable alternatives to feather down and synthetic yarns.
For example, their FLWRDWN™ is a vegan-friendly alternative to goose and duck down made of wildflowers, a biopolymer, and hydrogel; they also use MIRUM® and grape leather, created with grape waste from the winemaking industry, as alternatives to synthetic and animal leather. From loungewear to shoes, accessories, and outerwear, PANAGAIA’s offering focuses on sustainability and new materials.
