5 luxury sneakers collectors are buying this season
While today it seems almost unthinkable that designers wouldn’t release sneakers as part of their seasonal collections, luxury sneakers are actually a relatively new addition to the high-end fashion market. In the 1980s Gucci released their first pair of designer tennis shoes and since then, it would be a gross understatement to say sneakers have become anything but highly-coveted items.
As the designer shoe market continues to shift its focus from high heels and dress shoes to wearable, street-focused sneakers, brands are embracing the streetwear trend and releasing new luxury models as centrepieces of their collections.
For spring and summer 2021, we did a little digging and found the year’s most sought-after luxury models. If high-end sneakers are your thing, then scroll down to find out what’s trending this season.
