It’s been 26 years since Princess Diana wore this iconic outfit

The late Princess Diana‘s wardrobe remains arguably one of the most influential in the world even more than 20 years after her passing.

In the 1990s, coinciding with her split from Prince Charles, Lady Di began favouring the sleeker, more minimal styles of the decade and adopted a wardrobe teeming with elegant dresses, muted tones, and lust-worthy accessories, one of which was her sapphire brooch necklace.

Diana was gifted the sapphire brooch early in her marriage to Prince Charles by the Queen Mother. She later had the statement piece fashioned into a necklace featuring seven strands of pearls, later becoming one of her most-recognizable pieces of jewelry.
