WTF is Shark Sauce?

We’ve washed our hair with horse shampoo, applied pubic hair oil to our nether regions, and now, we’re dabbling with Reddit skincare-favourite shark sauce.

Shark Sauce? WTF is Shark Sauce?

Well, first of all, it’s not what you think it is. I promise. Shark Sauce does not contain any sharks, shark extract, or any shark derivatives. It’s actually a beauty serum. As for the funny name? Well, that’s an inside joke between the serum’s creator and a K-beauty blogger.

Beyond the thought-provoking name, Shark Sauce is a hydrating serum that helps battle hyper-pigmentation. It contains 5% Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and 3% N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG). The first of those two fancy words, Niacinamide, is a skin-restoring ingredient that improves uneven skin tone and the appearance of pores. The second ingredient, NAG, reduces dryness and improves the skin’s barrier. Studies have shown that NAG can increase collagen production and the skin’s natural elasticity.

The serum applies nicely and has the consistency of a light gel. The Shark Sauce formula calms sensitive skin and both lightens hyperpigmentation and treats acne and active breakouts.

It’s a highly concentrated serum, so a little goes a long way. Shark Sauce is handmade and created in small batches, so unlike some other big companies, you know what you’re getting is fresh.
