Self-tanning drops: What are they and how do they work?
As much as we sing the praises of self-tanner, the application experience can be a time-consuming, mistake-prone matter, especially if you’re new to the practice. However, as our tans begin to fade with the arrival of cooler weather, we aren’t quite ready to give up our glowing summer complexions just yet. The solution? Self-tanning drops.
What are self-tanning drops?
Self-tanning glow drops are a highly concentrated form of liquid self-tanner that can be easily integrated into your everyday skincare routines. Just like conventional tanning products, they contain the active ingredient dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which causes the keratin in the skin to turn brown.
How to use self-tanning drops
To bring your summer glow into the colder months, simply combine the drops with your usual face cream or body lotion.
Cleanse the skin as usual beforehand and then apply the moisturizer and self-tan mixture. The more drops you add, the darker your complexion will be.
Do self-tanning drops actually work?
The answer? Yes. The drops are especially good for the face as they won’t clog your pores. There are special formulations for both body and face!
After use, remember to wash your hands and get ready to wait as results can typically be seen within four to eight hours. As always, before you’re ready to go outside, remember to apply sunscreen.
Our tip: Start off slow, add only a few drops to your moisturizer to see how much you will need. You can then slowly build up your tan or maintain it depending on how many drop you need. Everyone’s skin is different so don’t be afraid to test it out to find your own personal sweet spot.
