The craze for matte makeup was one that the beauty industry just couldn’t shake off. Absolutely every makeup lover was wearing matte shadows, matte lipsticks and mattifying foundation. Every brand we know of released all-matte-everything products. The result is beautiful but lacks shine and dimension.

Over the last while, lip glosses came back and pushed matte lipsticks to the side; semi-matte foundations started to trend again and shortly after, the glossy eyelid trend followed.

How To: Glossy Eyeshadow

Apply a shimmer of metallic shadow. Any formula works, although gels and creams deliver the best glossy look. Apply with a brush or your finger.
Apply a gloss, a lip balm, an eyegloss or a shimmer cream right on top with your finger! Tap a small amount and avoid the crease.
