6 Tips For Making Your Perfume Last Longer
While it is true that we become nose deaf to our perfume over the course of a day, chances are, unless you are taking these extra steps to make you scent stick it might be wearing off quicker than you think.
Make the most out of your pricey perfume.
After A Hot Shower: Heat opens up your pores, making them more absorbent. So spritzing your perfume on after a steamy shower will help it soak in your skin for a longer lasting scent.
Proper Storage: As a follow up to our previous statement, while you should apply your perfume after a shower—you shouldn’t store your fragrance in your bathroom where the warm, damp atmosphere can break down the perfume.
Use A Base Coat: Oil up with a little petroleum jelly or unscented lotion before you apply your perfume; the thick base will help your scent stick.
Brush It In: Show your locks some love when you spray your brush with perfume before you comb your hair—this will give you a light, even layer of fragrance that will last all day.
Apply To Pressure Points: The first thing we learn about perfume is to spray it on our pressure points, i.e. our wrists and neck. But we have so many more than just those two. For head-to-toe coverage that will radiate your fragrance, you can also apply perfume behind your knees and on your ankles.
Pay Attention To The Type Of Perfume You Buy: In our guide to the olfactory lexicon, we break down the difference between Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette and Eau Fraiche. The perfect example of getting what you pay for, Eau de Parfum maybe cost twice as much as its Eau Fraiche counterpart, but with a high percentage of perfume oils, it will last several hours longer.
