Laid back, but not for couch potatoes: Hooded t-shirts are a popular basic item for urban and athletic wear. Thanks to cool new designs and refinements, hooded t-shirts are now becoming more and more popular even outside the hip hop and skater scenes. 1. Show off those biceps
Short sleeve or sleeveless hooded t-shirts for men are old gym classics. But they’re not just for the boxing ring! Bright colors, funny prints and cool embellishments like breast pockets make these hoodies appropriate for everyday wear. The used look with its frayed seams and vintage wash has crossed over from the world of denim to the realm of sweatshirts too. Looser fits highlight this style’s innate urban character. You can combine this look with shorts, jeans, and sneakers. Just one more thing is missing: A cap, of course!
2. Long-sleeve sophistication
Whether worn alone or as part of a layer look, long sleeve shirts are inherently more elegant than their short sleeve counterparts. Hoodies with long sleeves and pockets are a popular favorite and ideal for casual outfits with jeans or sweatpants. Tapered hooded t-shirts for men in understated colors like gray or black can also be combined with dressier looks. Quick style change: Make your hoodie dinner-appropriate by throwing on a sport jacket, skinny jeans, and leather shoes.
3. Zip, zip, hooray!
Tops and even button-up shirts look great when combined with hooded t-shirts with zippers. It’s important to choose a plain shirt void of bold patterns; feel free to pop the collar so it can be seen above the hoodie. A front zipper makes this look ideal for showing off those pecs. Sneakers and jeans complete the ensemble. Necklaces can also be combined with unzipped looks, since they won’t be hidden by a high shawl collar.
4. Button-up hoodies
This is the most stylish of all sweatshirts: The button strip creates a mature, put-together look that’s more stylish than it is sporty. A striped, button-up shirt underneath is perfect for creating a cool nautical look. Be sure not to forget the yachting shoes, chinos, and accessories with understated anchor designs!
Hooded t-shirts are no longer the exclusive domain of surfer boys and professional boxers. For a cool office look, simply opt for a tapered, classic cut; loose-fitting designs with pockets and a used look are best for weekend wear. For a balanced look, make sure the hoodie strings are the same length on both sides.
