Home textiles: from drapes to tablecloths
A home only begins to come into its own when home textiles – either color coordinated or contrasting – are put to use. Drapes provide privacy and shade, rugs give warmth, tablecloths decorate the table, and home decor fabrics can be used anywhere where custom textile accessories are needed.
At the window
A decorative curtain frames the window and creates a homey feeling in the room. Blinds offer privacy and let you regulate how much light gets in. A sliding curtain is best used on very tall, long windows (also as a room divider or to replace a closet door). Half-height sliding drapes are really good in rooms where you want to let lots of light in through the window, without people seeing in. Cotton curtains with tabs or loops are mostly used for decoration.
On the floor
Rugs in the living room provide more comfort. Depending on your taste and the shape of your room, they come round or square, in deep pile or tight weave like Persian rugs. Doormats need to take up dirt well. A hallway runner dampens sound and gives you a cozy entryway. Brightly colored cotton woven rugs are great in front of the stove in the kitchen and give a pop of color. Playrugs are really good for a kid’s room.
On the table
Tablecloths dress up the whole table – this is handy when the surface is scratched, or on special days if you want to give it a festive look. A runner protects a wooden table and is especially intended as a base for decanters and serving dishes. Placemats are easily laid out, and cleaned up are fun to put plates and cups on. Our luxury placemats are that bit finer – great for dinner parties and holidays.
Home decor fabrics
Home textiles of all sorts can be made from our decor fabrics. Slipcovers (throws), pillowcases, drapes, bed linen, dish towels or bedspreads. Many of our fabrics have special finishes (wipeable, laminated etc)
Home textiles make your house homey and create a snug atmosphere in the living room, kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. If you color coordinate the fleecy fabrics, you will create a harmonious overall appearance. If you choose textiles in different colors, you get exciting contrasts and highlights.
