Get Down With A Down Parka
If you like to dance, you know that cold weather can be a real bummer. How are you supposed to dress warm enough to keep from freezing your butt off on the way to the club without wearing so much that you’re sweating by the end of the first song?
The solution is simple. Wear the warmest, fluffiest winter coat around: a down parka. Here’s how to make it work when you twerk.
First: Pick Your Dance Outfit
You want clothing you can really move in, of course—but that’s easier said than done when you’re trying to be warm-but-not-too-warm. If a short dress and tights are your go-to but you need a toastier upgrade, try a pair of high-waisted jeans with a fitted sequined top. It’s still a sexy look, but won’t have you hating yourself while you’re scrambling over frozen sidewalks on the way there and back. Plus, you can slip your credit card and phone into your pockets so you don’t need to lug a purse with you.
Second: Top It Off
If you’re looking in the mirror thinking, “I look good, but there’s no way I’m going to be warm enough without throwing a sweater and three scarves on,” think again. All you need is a seriously serious down parka. With insulated layers and a fur-lined hood, this coat will keep you warm even without all the extra trappings. We promise.
Third: Hit The Dance Floor
Once you get there, pay the small fee to leave your parka at the coat check, if there is one. If there is no coat check, toss your parka in a pile with your friends’ coats on the table with your drinks and bust a move.
