Decorative objects for your table, for the wall and the floor

Decorative objects highlight the ambience of an interior – throughout the year, or just for a season. Christmas decorations are temporary, whereas artistic sculptures and reliefs are more permanent decorations for a room. Decorative objects can also fulfil a practical purpose, for instance as wine bottle holders, flower stands or table lamps.

Decorative objects for the table and cabinet

  • Which are useful: Bowls for fruit or fragrant potpourri, wine bottle holders and table lamps can also be artistic objects, made from wood, chrome or acrylic.
  • To look at: as the centerpiece on a table or on a sideboard: Asian sculptures which create a Zen-like ambience, maritime decorative objects to lend a beach house feel (particularly nice on bathroom shelves)
  • Seasonal: At Christmas, Easter and other celebratory occasions to provide atmospheric decoration – with floral decorations on the table or porcelain and wood figurines on shelves and on sideboards

Decorative objects for walls and the ceiling

  • Which are useful: Picture frames and wall objects which are lit-up decorate bare walls and at the same time provide a cozy source of light.
  • To look at: Stag’s heads or resin antlers are attractive wall decorations, even for animal conservationists, wall reliefs made of iron impart a  retro look, while wall hangings lend an Oriental look
  • Seasonal: festively lit LED pictures, often depicting Christmas scenes, or a branch swinging on a ribbon, mounted above the dining table, which is decorated with Christmas tree baubles

Decorative objects for the floor

  • Which are useful: Floor vases and wine bottle holders made from metal go well in a lounge, free-standing mirrors are great in the hallway, toys and magazines can be stowed away in wooden chests.
  • To look at: a solid wood sculpture in the foyer, woven basket as a decoration
  • Seasonal: LED Christmas trees are practical alternatives to a real tree, as are large standing vases with mock Easter branches.

  • To look at: Decorative objects made from wire, mostly in animal shapes, which can be positioned in between plants
