In Autumn at the latest, when the temperatures slowly creep down into the single figures, it’s about time to start thinking about which coat is going to see you through the cold and dreary days. Green coats are the perfect stylish companion for late Autumn and Winter.
Green coats with a trend factor
The blazer coat is trustworthy companion for the cold seasons, as it encompasses everything from classic feminine to Boyfriend styles – suitable for the office as well as late night parties. And the best thing: anyone can wear one! Thanks to its straight cut this coat is reliably warm, but there’s still enough room underneath for a hip layered look or a cosy jumper.
An absolutely classic style that should be a staple of every wardrobe is the duffel coat. This traditional design comprises a half-length coat made from durable fabric with a hood, flap pockets, tabs and horn toggles. One item with a particular coolness-factor is the kimono: admittedly, this piece will have to stay in the wardrobe when it’s really cold outside… but on slightly milder days it’s still a great alternative, and its light and breezy style lets us dream a little of Summer.
How we combine green
Petrol, mint green, olive or a light grass green – the colour palette is enormous and the combination possibilities are just as large. Green coats always look good with classic denim, as well as with cloth trousers in stone, black or nude tones. Green shades like olive or khaki are all-rounders, as they even look good with camel, red or earthy tones. The more courageous of those among us can try wearing a wool coat in a trendy apple green. We wear it with tops or jumpers in black and white designs, and a pair of cigarette trousers in a soft pink. Blazer coats in petrol green look really elegant. Style with strong colours like aubergine or Bordeaux-red, which we like best on airy blouses or figure-hugging turtle-neck jumpers.
You’re best off choosing a green coat with a straight cut: not only do they look particularly casual, they also leave room for a jumper as an extra layer. If you only wear a light blouse underneath, you have the opportunity to make use of a belt and give your figure more structure.
