Get up and go in a Casual Coat

Everyone needs a throw-on-and-go coat. It’s the coat to grab to get groceries, something to snuggle into when you go for a quick coffee with a friend—just a casual coat that keeps out the cold. You’re not going to take out the trash in your camel overcoat, but that doesn’t mean you want to be seen in a tattered old sweatshirt either. Which is why you should have a casual coat that’s effortlessly cool.

As much a part of your outfit as your shoes, choose a casual coat you’ll actually want to wear.

Hooded Coats

There is nothing unfashionable about a hat—don’t get us wrong. We love a cashmere beanie or one with furry ear-flaps but not all of us have hair that agrees with headgear. If you’re not a hat person then you need a hooded coat. Pull the hood over your head while leaving your ‘do unscathed and protected from the elements.

Parkas

Facing Alaska-like weather? Just cold-blooded? Then you’ll want a coat that was made to handle harsh winter climates. A parka may be casual in appearance, but when it comes to keeping you warm it means business. For an arctic-approved outfit, pair your fur-trimmed coat with tall Mukluk boots and mittens.

Puffer Coats

Never felt comfortable in jeans? Don’t even own sneakers? For those with a finer palette for fashion, a casual jacket might not get your blood pumping. But, let’s be honest your designer fur chubby sticks out when you’re perusing the cereal aisle. Instead, slip into a sophisticated yet sporty quilted coat that will look cozy with your leggings and equestrian boots.

Keep out the cold in a coat that is cool, but not too classy that it can’t handle the hard work of running your everyday errands.
