Tame the West in Wild-Patterned Western Belts

If you wanted to create an outfit with Western flavor, you could throw on a belt with a silver buckle and a stud or two and call it a day. That’s all well and fine, but why not turn up the Western twang by going for something unexpected, like a belt with animal prints or flowers?

When it comes to Western belts, we’ve got a few suggestions to help you go above and beyond the call of the wild.

Nothing but Spots

There are western belts with bull horns and horses, but what about wild leopards? The ferocious feline certainly isn’t native to the Western frontier, but a spotted belt presents an interesting shift from your typical silver-buckled Western belt. Stick to the Western theme with a belt covered in cowhide treated to look like leopard skin.

Flower Power

Wildflowers are a romantic emblem of all things free and untamable, much like the wild West. They certainly stand in a category all on their own. Take on the open range like the wildflower you are in a concho belt with a floral pattern stamped across the leather. Finish the look with a simple black frock so it doesn’t distract from the ornateness of the belt.

Chase the Rainbow

There are only so many Western belts you can own in traditional black and golden brown. While we love the rich colors, after a while it becomes a bit monotone. Embrace the West’s colorful side in a belt with red and green studs, or one with a ribbon inlay with purple, yellow and blue.

You don’t have to repeat the same Western motifs over and over again. After all, the wild West is about breaking rules, so take your style to unknown terrain with an untraditional Western belt.

Go big or go home with these not-so-ordinary Western belts.
